Ikan Masak Taucu a.k.a Fish in Taucu Sauce

Ok...this can be my 1st time to really write on my blog hehehe. as for my 1st entry, I want to share this dish....Ikan masak taucu a.k.a Fish in Taucu Sauce (can't really find what the exact name for this dish ^_^). Its my 1st time to try this dish last nite n to my shock my parents enjoy it LOL..thanks to minami133

Anyway, for those who don't know what 'taucu' is...it fermented soy bean in salt and here it easily found in glass bottle. can try to google for it if still blur hehehe

Here's my 'translated' version of minami133@myresipi.com

Ingredients:
- Get any type of fish. can use few pieces of medium size or 1 big size fish
- Half of an onion
- 1 clover of garlic
- 2 pieces of ginger (thinly sliced)
- 3 chilies
- 2 tbs of taucu
- tamrind juice or paste
- tumeric powder (for me this optional)
- cooking oil
- salt
- 1 tbs of sugar
- 3 cups of water

How to cook:
- Season the fish with salt and tumeric (but I just use salt and tamrind) then deep fry.
- While frying, prepare the taucu sauce. Heat up the cooking oil in the pan and fry onion and garlic followed by ginger and chilies.
- Insert taucu and stir for a while before pour the water and tamrind juice. Add sugar. (no salt need as the taucu is salty enough)
- When the fish finish fried, mix the fish with the taucu sauce for few minutes and wallaaaaaaa ur dish is ready to served ^_^

  • Prepare time: less than 15mins if the taucu sauce prepare at the same time while frying the fish
  • Difficulty : sooooo easy....just chop chop n throw in the pan :P
  • Taste: soooo yummy seh. Its so hard for my dad to add another plate of rice but this dish really 'seduce' him hahaha
